Eden Ünlüata - Foley is an interdisciplinary artist, educator, and designer based in Chicago. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design from Middle East Technical University (Turkey,) a MFA degree in Graphic Design from Bilkent University (Turkey,) and a MA degree from Department of Interdisciplinary Arts from Columbia College Chicago.
His artworks focus on the formation of cultural identity and its relationship to place, the sense of belonging, memory and personal stories. His primary medium is interactive installations - digital and physical. He regularly incorporates Augmented reality (AR) components and digital games into these installations along with performances, movement pieces, digital photography, video art, sound art, book arts, paper arts, ceramics, fiber arts, text, sculpture, and more. He continues to exhibit locally and internationally.
As a designer he provides project management, and design documentation services for design firms and design research labs.
He is currently Full-time Faculty at West Shore Community College (WSCC) in Ludington, MI. Prior to WSCC he was an adjunct faculty member at Columbia College Chicago, Interactive Arts and Media Department. His primary focus is foundations classes for freshmen students. He also has extensive experiences in K-12 system with a focus on arts integration, digital media literacy, and teacher capacity development.
